FIVE VARIATIONS ON HAMLET, a re-imagining of Shakespeare’s timeless classic THE TRAGICAL HISTORY OF HAMLET, PRINCE OF DENMARK, is a one-night-only theatre event taking place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this September 17th. Five emerging playwrights have been assigned a different act of the tragedy and charged with the task of creating new fifteen minute plays inspired by the characters, setting, and themes of the original piece. As a result, we get an evening of completely original theatre pieces lightly tracing the footsteps of Shakespeare’s vengeful protagonist.
